Our history at Paradise Island, has been a story of change and growth. We (Mike and Julie Haas) got our start in 1985 when we purchased a franchise location of Breslers 33 Flavors. The ice cream store was located in the JC Penny wing of the Fox River Mall. After 10 years of working with the franchise, we decided to break away and create our own establishment called Paradise Island.
We moved to a new spot in the mall across from the Great American Cookie Company. Then, after the completion of the mall’s new addition to the food court in 1997, Paradise Island moved into Northwoods Cafe with a brand new kiosk. A few years down the road, the identity of Paradise Island evolved again as we transitioned out of the mall and opened up our first stand alone restaurant on Ballard Road on the north side of Appleton in May 2001.
Our new location features premium ice cream and smoothies like the previous mall location, and also features a full food menu that includes burgers, chicken, hot sandwiches, deli sandwiches, salads, and homemade soups. Our aspiration at the Ballard Road location is to serve high quality food and ice cream with fast-casual style dining in a tropical aura.
